If you're going to San Francisco... ~ Now And Zen Music Fest

A wonderful surprise for my birthday weekend was a music festival at the Golden Gate Park! Every year radio Alice 97.3 throws a big end-of-summer free concert in Golden Gate's Sharon Meadow. This year their line-up featured Hedley, Tristan Prettyman, Phil Philips (yes America's newest sweetheart), Ed Sheeran, Matt Nathanson and Alanis Morissette. Needless to say I was pretty stoked. I was looking forward to seeing Philips and newest favorite Ed Sheeran. They did not disappoint. It was clear to see what the hype was all about with Philips' powerful melodic voice, while Sheeran's smooth and dreamy vocals cradled the entire crowd, women especially. Nathanson, who's now a native of San Francisco, had the crowd going with his comic antics and of course, all too familiar tunes.

The sun made me wish I had my island clothes with me! Nevertheless we all had a great time laying on the grass, munching on our picnic food, lining up forever for a popsicle (watermelon and mint, it was worth it!), catching up with my dearest friend Chica (also my travel buddy, we've been together in 3 different continents the past 3 years, how cool is that), hanging out with hometown friends who've made SF their home and simply enjoying the entire scene. I truly couldn't ask for more.

Watching from the tree top is cool too

Peace, love and good vibes!

We're heading to the East Coast and the SF series will be back in a couple of weeks. In the meantime watch out for other travel logs!

i'll do anything to be happy

Photobucket

i'm tired of waiting. thinking. shaking things up. i'm tired of talking. talking. and just talking. i'm tired of coasting by because it's not getting us anywhere. i'm tired of waking you up again and again and again. wake up already.

i want to live the rest of my life now.

there'll be sun sun sun

Oh well in five years time we could be walking round a zoo
With the sun shining down over me and you
And there’ll be love in the bodies of the elephants too
And I’ll put my hands over your eyes, but you’ll peep through

And there’ll be sun sun sun
All over our bodies
And sun sun sun
All down our necks
And sun sun sun
All over our faces
And sun sun sun

So what the heck

Oh well I look at you and say
It’s the happiest that I’ve ever been
And I’ll say I no longer feel I have to be James Dean
And she’ll say
Yah well I feel all pretty happy too
And I’m always pretty happy when I’m just kicking back with you

And it’ll be
Love love love
All through our bodies
And love love love
All through our minds
And it be Love love love
All over her face
And Love love love
All over mine

The sun is back once again and these past few days have been filled with much island love.
5 Years Time by Noah & The Whale is my song of the moment. Everything about it reflects what feels good for me right now.

Five years time
I might not know you
Five years time
We might not speak
Oh in five years time
We might not get along
In five years time
You might just prove me wrong

have a listen!
